Justice Reform Initiatives/Diversion Program
Navigating the justice system can be overwhelming but you do not have to do it alone. Through the City Attorney’s Neighborhood Justice Program, first-time offenders get guidance, support, and a chance to avoid formal charges. Complete the program and your case is dismissed helping you move forward without the burden of the system holding you back. Justice is fairer when it is accessible.
LAPD De-Escalation Program
Building safer communities starts with understanding and communication. In partnership with Pepperdine University, this program trains officers and community members in proven de-escalation techniques. By teaching practical skills to manage tense situations calmly and effectively, we reduce conflict, strengthen trust, and create neighborhoods where everyone feels safer.
Mediation- Dispute Resolution Program
Conflicts happen but they do not have to divide our community. Our certified mediators at the City Attorney’s Office work directly with residents to resolve disputes peacefully. Whether it is neighbors, businesses, or families, we provide tools and solutions to restore understanding, strengthen relationships, and keep the community connected.
Art Workshops
Creativity comes to life in the Slauson Corridor. At John Muir Junior High, our mural workshops brought students together to design and paint vibrant public art that reflects their stories and community pride. These workshops teach artistic skills, teamwork, and self-expression while transforming school spaces into inspiring places for everyone.
