Navigating the justice system can be overwhelming but you do not have to do it alone. Through the City Attorney’s Neighborhood Justice Program, first-time offenders get guidance, support, and a chance to avoid formal charges. Complete the program and your case is dismissed helping you move forward without the burden of the system holding you back. Justice is fairer when it is accessible.

Building safer communities starts with understanding and communication. In partnership with Pepperdine University, this program trains officers and community members in proven de-escalation techniques. By teaching practical skills to manage tense situations calmly and effectively, we reduce conflict, strengthen trust, and create neighborhoods where everyone feels safer.

Conflicts happen but they do not have to divide our community. Our certified mediators at the City Attorney’s Office work directly with residents to resolve disputes peacefully. Whether it is neighbors, businesses, or families, we provide tools and solutions to restore understanding, strengthen relationships, and keep the community connected.

Creativity comes to life in the Slauson Corridor. At John Muir Junior High, our mural workshops brought students together to design and paint vibrant public art that reflects their stories and community pride. These workshops teach artistic skills, teamwork, and self-expression while transforming school spaces into inspiring places for everyone.

Creativity brings people together and changes communities. We offer public murals, art projects, and lessons that showcase local talent, inspire youth, and brighten our neighborhoods. Art is more than expression it is a movement that leaves a lasting mark.

Healing through creativity starts here. Our art therapy lessons give community members a safe space to express emotions, process experiences, and build mental wellness through painting, drawing, and other creative practices. Art becomes more than expression, it becomes a tool for reflection, growth, and personal strength.

Together we can transform our neighborhoods. From street clean-ups to restoring public spaces, our community service programs empower residents to take pride in where they live. Every effort makes a visible difference turning neglected areas into vibrant, welcoming spaces.

We are reclaiming our walls and our streets. Graffiti abatement programs clean and restore public spaces while creating opportunities for local artists to express themselves legally. Beautifying our neighborhoods strengthens community pride and discourages vandalism.

Bringing the neighborhood together one celebration at a time. Our community art festivals showcase local talent, feature live art demonstrations, and create spaces for residents to connect, celebrate, and be inspired. These events turn the Slauson Corridor into a vibrant hub of creativity, culture, and community pride.

There is always another path. Our gang diversion initiatives guide youth toward positive opportunities and away from violence. With mentorship, skills training, and supportive programs, we give young people the tools to build a brighter future.

Learning does not stop at the school bell. Our after-school programs give kids a safe, engaging space to grow, explore new skills, and get homework support. From mentorship to enrichment activities, we help youth thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Recovery is possible and support is here. Our programs provide guidance, counseling, and resources to help individuals overcome substance abuse. Step by step, we empower community members to reclaim their lives and build a healthier future.

Trusted information changes lives. Attorney Salomon Zavala leads immigration rights workshops that help families understand their options, avoid scams, and navigate paperwork with confidence. These workshops provide clear guidance, real answers, and hope for community members working to secure their legal status and protect their loved ones.

Healthy communities start with a healthy environment. Our environmental awareness programs teach youth and families about recycling, clean air, urban greening, and caring for the spaces where we live. We combine education with action through clean-ups, workshops, and hands-on projects that protect and beautify the Slauson Corridor.

No one in our community should go hungry. Our unhoused outreach teams provide meals, water, hygiene items, and connection to services for people living on the streets. We meet people with respect, compassion, and consistency because feeding the unhoused is not charity, it is community responsibility.

Every child deserves joy during the holidays. Our toy drives and giveaways bring together community partners to make sure local kids receive new toys and gifts. Families feel seen, supported, and celebrated, creating moments of happiness that last long after the season ends.

Dignity starts with the basics. Our clothing drives collect new and gently used items for families, seniors, youth, and anyone in need throughout the Slauson Corridor. We make sure clothes get directly into the hands of community members, helping people stay warm, job-ready, and confident.
